Counting Races for 2020 Fantasy Cycling Teams

These are the races from which our fantasy cycling teams will be gaining points throught the 2020 season.

This is the first year of a new nomenclature for UCI races and an expansion of the second-tier calendar.

The season came to a halt at the end of the penultimate scheduled day of Paris-Nice as the whole sport shut down in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Fast forward to the last week of July and the season began a tentative re-start with the Vuelta a Burgos, now considered the first race in "Period 5", and managed to squeeze in most of a season between then and mid-November, when the Vuelta España finished. There were only a few further cancellations but the loss of Paris-Rubaix in particular was keenly felt.

This is the calendar as actually raced, the calendar as originally envisaged was of course radically different!
