* Based on the humorous novel by Stella Gibbons, John Schlesinger's endearing film stars Kate Beckinsale as the poor, orphaned Flora Poste who goes to live with her deranged and bizarre relatives at the aptly named Cold Comfort Farm and, despite their resistance, sets about lifting them from the mire of despondency. A wonderful cast including Ian McKellen, Stephen Fry, Rufus Sewell, Eileen Atkins, Freddie Jones, Joanna Lumley and Miriam Margoyles unite to produce a funny, delightful, sophisticated romp.
