Ever since
we moved to Cambridge, we've been enthusiastic patrons of Cambridge's
premier Italian delicatessan: Limoncello on
Mill Road. This shop is an Aladdin's cave of speciality items run by
the hugely enthusiatic Steve Turvill. As well as the shop itself, there's
a thriving mail order business based on the Limoncello website at:
http://www.limoncello.co.uk/
From wonderful,
locally baked, bread through a full range of cheese and ham to every
conceivable shape of pasta and, yes, a good selection of Limoncello,
this was a mainstay of our shopping from our first expedition to Mill
Road, a.k.a. "the Islington of Cambridge". One of the shop's
special features is that customers are encouraged to "have a taste"
of whatever
they're considering buying and, of course, eveything tastes so good
that the temptation to buy is irresistible!
After being
regular customers for six months Lisa was approached to see if she'd
like to work there on a part-time basis. Needless to say, she jumped
at the chance and is now an established member of the Limoncello team.
The shop is open seven days a week and Lisa works around 30 hours a
week on an irregular schedule covering all seven days. If you're in
the area, pop in and say "hi!" sometime.
