<> Some Thoughts on Life & Living <>

* My wife, Lisa, regularly gets email from her friends Pamela, Nanette, Julie, and John in the USA passing on jokes (some of which are even funny) and more-or-less humourous lists of various sorts. Lisa forwards the better ones on to me to brighten up my mornings at work, and the best of these I've saved and take great pleasure in re-reading. I'll spare you the jokes, but I'd like to share with you some of the lists that have most taken my fancy as shedding some thought-provoking light on the human condition.

* The first item is atypical in its serious tone but is, I feel, packed with good thoughts which is why it is accorded pride of place here:

+ Instructions for Life +

Pamela sent us this, saying just: "Some touchy feely mail from Susan P". I've no idea who Susan P is, nor where she got the list, but it's one of the best such collections I've seen. Thanks Susan. Thanks Pamela.

* The rest of these are in a rather more jokey vein but still often thought-provoking. Enjoy!

* My thanks go out to all who have contributed to passing these little gems around the net, and especially to Pamela, Nanette, Julie, John, and (most importantly of all!) Lisa.

* As with all such collections, many of the items of "trivia" are apocryphal. I've weeded out any that I know to be wrong, but doubtless there are many more that wouldn't stand up to a little research. If you see something untrue in one of these lists that particularly irks you, please do let me know!

Steve.
